If you like being in nature, you should take a day to explore the Black River Gorges National Park. We didn't go on a hike (maybe next time), but rather explored the area, stopped wherever we felt like it – we saw some waterfalls, petted some dogs, had a snack consisting of pineapple, jam and chili powder from a stand by the road and saw an amazing view of the valley below ... and monkeys (see pics). If you are visiting in the colder season like July, dress well. It can get quite cold and windy up there. As for the monkeys, I do not agree that they are aggressive and that you shouldn't feed them. Just be careful that they do not snatch the whole bag of snacks from you. Just don't be intrusive and keep your belongings near you, food safely stored in your backpack, and they will happily and gently take peanuts from your hand :)
