Berlin, Mitte. Dorotheenstadt Protestant cemetery & burial ground Egon Barr grave with bronze bust. Established in the eighteenth century on land donated by Prussian King Frederick II, Frederick the Great. There were originally four cemeteries on this land and two still exist - the French cemetery and the Dorotheenstadt cemetery. The Dorotheenstadt cemetery was established jointly by the two Protestant parishes in the early 1760s – the Dorotheenstadt and Friedrichswerder Parishes. The graveyard has listed landmark status and houses the graves and honorary graves of several prominent people and a collective monument honouring the Resistance fighters killed during the Nazi regime.
