Visitors at the well preserved Aboriginal rock stencil art site, known as the ‘Art Gallery’ believed to be 3, 650 years old on the white sandstone rocks at the 'Art Gallery, ' in the Carnarvon Gorge National Park in the Central Highlands of Queensland in Australia. Carnarvon Gorge's landscapes have largely been shaped by water erosion and is renown for its towering white sandstone cliffs, high above the winding Carnarvon Creek, cutting its way through rainforest for approximately 30 kilometres into the outback. Scottish explorer, Thomas Mitchell visited the Gorge in the 1840s, and named it after a Welsh coastal town, Caernarfon in the United Kingdom
