Winter storms early in 2021 revealed an old shipwreck at Covehithe Suffolk, just north of Southwold. Probably eighteenth but possibly nineteenth century. Either a warship or collier boat. It was buried under beach deposits for many years but recent, late winter, storms scoured sand and gravel from the beach to reveal this wreck. The discovery was reported to the Archaeological Service who passed the details onto the Coastal and Intertidal Zone Archaeological Network (CITiZAN), who are experts in coastal archaeology and run a survey and recording volunteer programme.
