High Street, Birmingham 13th October 2025 - West Midlands Police and forensics at the scene of a serious stabbing on the High Street in Birmingham city centre after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed and seriously injured on Sunday evening. Cordons closing the entire High Street were still in place for most of Monday morning as forensics and specialist search teams looked for the weapon. A witness who saw the incident said 2 groups of Asian males fought each other and the victim was stabbed with what looked like an 'Afro Comb with a spike on the end' The witness said the attacker ran off and took his coat off revealing a white T-Shirt, 'He stuck out like a sore thumb with everyone else wearing dark clothing, so it shouldn't be hard to find him'. The witness said the victim lay injured with his face in a puddle of water and it wasn't until a homeless man put him in the recovery position and applied pressure to the wound that he could breathe properly. West Midlands Police said in a statement on Sunday evening: 'We currently have a scene in place in Birmingham city centre following reports of a stabbing. 'We were called to High Street, near Dale End, just after 6pm last night (12 October) to reports someone had been stabbed. 'A boy, aged 17, was taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries. 'Our investigation is at an early stage as officers work to establish exactly what happened. 'A scene is likely to remain in place into the morning and we would ask people to avoid the area. 'Anyone who saw what happened, or has information that could help our investigation, should call 101 quoting log 3142 of 12 October.' ENDS Credit: British News and Media/Alamy Live News
