Entrance of the Rotorua Museum of Art and History (Te Whare Taonga o Te Arawa) in the former Great South Seas Spa Bath House Building. A Tudor Revival (or Mock Tudor or Tudorbethan) style building with the highest classification on the New Zealand Historic Places list. Opened in 1908 the Bath House it was the New Zealand Government’s first major investment in the tourism industry. It attracted early 20th century A-listers as well as serving as a sanatorium for the wounded in and just after WW1.
