Weitere Informationen:
Siklawa (Wodospad Siklawy), also called Wielka Siklawa, is the largest waterfall in the Polish Tatras and the highest in Poland, with a total drop of around 70 m (230 ft). Situated at about 1, 600 m above sea level, it cascades in two or three streams depending on the water level in Wielki Staw Polski, the largest of the Five Polish Ponds. The waterfall flows at a 35° angle down the granite wall separating Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich from the Roztoka Valley. Known since the early 19th century, Siklawa has been celebrated by poets and painters and remains a popular hiking destination. The trail alongside the falls is considered hazardous in icy conditions, with historical accidents recorded, underscoring the dramatic power of this alpine landmark within Tatra National Park.
