Sabarmati Ashram (auch als Gandhi Ashram bekannt), war einer der Wohnsitze von Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi, der dort für ungefähr zwölf Jahre zusammen mit seiner Ehefrau Kasturba Gandhi lebte genannt. Es war von seiner Base hier, dass Gandhi führte die Dandi März auch als Salz Satyagraha am 12. März 1930 bekannt
