Spring Wood, Whalley, Clitheroe, Lancashire, England is a typical, local English woodland, where families come to walk, relax, play, picnic and enjoy peaceful, tranquil and relaxing time outin the countryside. The woodland is managed by Rangers of The Lancashire Countryside Service, cultivating plants, trees and a suitable environment for wildlife. Its own arboretum has many species of trees cultivated in this protected environment. Narrow paths meander throughout the woods allowing the plantlife to flourish and survive, minimising the possibility of damage from the visitors. Throughout the year the landscape is ever changing, light and shade beams through the branches and leaves onto the woodland floor. In Spring the wood is probably at its best with a magnificent carpet of bluebells, wild garlic and many other species of flowers and plants.
