Historian Dan Snow hosted a memorial event to commemorate 20 years since the 9/11 attacks. The event was held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London and in front of the Since 9/11 memorial, a piece of art forged from the steel of Ground Zero. He was joined by leading figures from education and government who gave short speeches. Survivors and family members of survivors also attended.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave a pre-recorded address via video. A piece of music, commissioned by SINCE 9/11 for the event, was played by the Docklands Sinfonia. The event was organised by SINCE 9/11, a UK education charity set up to ensure that the legacy of 9/11 is one that builds hope from tragedy.
