Pictured: Ladies and gentlemen dressed in Regency attired clothing begin the promenade from Holburne Museum. // Approximately 500 people dressed in period attire take part in the Grand Regency Costumed Promenade celebrating the life and works of English novelist Jane Austen. The Promenade commenced mid-morning from the Holburne Museum and made its way through the historic Georgian streets and main shopping area of the city before finishing at Parade Gardens. In 2014 the Jane Austen Festival achieved the Guinness World Record TM for ‘The largest gathering of people dressed in Regency costumes’. The Somerset city is currently host to the Jane Austen Festival with thousands of visitors taking part in events such as film screenings, book readings, workshops, dances, balls, talks, concerts and theatricals.
