Mengniu Dairy Group held a conference in Beijing yesterday (20 September 2012) to launch its new milk packaging image, brand advertising and new slogan - Little Happiness Matters, expressing Mengnius consideration to consumers. It is the first time in 13 years for Mengniu Dairy to switch image in such a large scale. From Friday (21 September 2012) Mengnius milk with new packaging will gradually hit the shelves in over 1 million sales outlets in the main cities all over China. The volume and price of the new packaging milk however will not be affected. According to Sun Yiping, Chairman of Mengniu, the new image and idea of Mengniu is not only a simple visual change, but also a return of companys mission statement and core value. In recent years, Mengnius quality problems have been exposed continuously, such as student milk poisoning case, strong carcinogenic substances Aflatoxin M1 case and the production date being altered by manager case. These negative exposures have overshadowed Mengnius image in minds of consumers. To change image at this time shows the determination of COFCO Group, Mengniu Dairys new state-run parent company to bid farewell to the old Mengniu. Ning Gaoning, Chairman of COFCO Group, Board Chairman of Mengniu Dairy said on the conference yesterday that Mengniu should try its best to guarantee good quality and provide reassuring milk for consumers.
