DIESE BEWEGENDEN Bilder eines kleinen Gorillas, der von seiner stolzen Mutter dem begeisterten Fotografen „gezeigt“ wird, beweisen, wie sehr diese Inkredi Menschen ähneln
The lucky photographer captured this heartwarming moment. The Netherlands: THESE MOVING pictures of a young baby gorilla being ?shown? by its proud mother to the delighted photographer prove how much like humans these incredible primates are. Images show how the new baby clutches its mother as it views the world in its first few weeks of life. The baby gorilla hugs its mothers stomach, clutching her and looking lovingly into her eyes in a moment where the mother initially hid her baby from the eyes of outsiders, until she was happy to reveal her treasured offspring to the lucky photographer. Captured by local photographer Barbara Kempeneers (44) in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, these images were shot using a Canon 5DM4 camera. ?I made this shot when the little one is three-weeks old, ? said Barbara. ?She was sitting with the back towards me for a long time hiding the baby. ?Once in a while she was looking over her shoulder to see if I was still there, and I was. ?Suddenly she turned around and it felt like she was showing me her baby. This was a very special moment. I just enjoyed the moment and looked at them with my eyes and not through my lens. ?She started moving a bit further away and sat down again and that's when I made the beautiful shots of her little baby.? These two gorillas are Western Lowland Gorillas, a critically endangered species. There are only 100, 000 individuals left. This baby will grow up to be 600 pounds in weight and stand five feet 11 inches tall. At the time this photo was taken, the baby would have weighed only four pounds, a fraction of what it will become. Baby gorillas ride on their mother?s back from four months to two years old, depending on their mothers for the first five years of their lives. ?I love the emotional connection between mother and baby. It?s just like with humans, ? said Barbara. ?I could sit and watch them for hours. ?The mother was so caring of the little one. ?She was sitting in a difficult location, but I am very happy
