KIRKS DIK-DIK (Madoqua kirki). This dik-dik belongs to a small group of species differing from theone containing M. saltiana by the presence of three lobes to the lasttooth of the lower jaw, and likewise by the more decidedly trunk-likecharacter of the muzzle. From the other members of the group J/.damarensis differs by its superior size, and M. guentJiefi by the stillgreater development of the trunk. They belong to the sub - genusRhynchotragiis.
