Outhouse is an outdoor project for public art, located in the Northern Quarter's Stevenson Square, Manchester. Every three months the three blocks of the old, disused public toilet block in the centre of the square will be re-worked. Since 2010 the project has been supported by arts and crafts shop, Fred Aldous, sponsoring the artists' materials, and Eastern Bloc and Soup Kitchen on food duty while the artists are at work. A start has also been made to give the square a green make-over by planting out the roof of the old toilet block with, among other things, edible plants chosen by local residents and businesses. View towards Spear Street with images of heron and next painted by Sheffield-based artist, Faunagraphic, and 'Mon 53' mural, painted by Oliver Lancaster Smith, showing the countryside as a paramilitary figure re-acting to urbanisation.
