Exposition de Blanc a la Place Clichy. An elegant lady is examining lace and fabric for purchase at A La Place Clichy. They are being shown to her by her maid, having recently been removed from the shipping box at her elbow. Created Henri Thiriet aka Henry Thiriet (1873-1946), a prolific French poster artist, book illustrator and painter. He painted in a flamboyant Art Nouveau style, using its characteristic curves and swirls, and a colourful palette to create imagery bearing his clear stamp. The Place de Clichy, also known as "Place Clichy", is situated in the northwestern quadrant of Paris. It is formed by the intersection of the Boulevard de Clichy, the Avenue Clichy, the Rue Clichy, the Boulevard des Batignolles, and the Rue d'Amsterdam.
