The castles of Cabaret, Surdespine and Quertinheux, probably built in the middle of the 11th century. In 1227 Cabaret was besieged by Humbert de Beaujeu. At the end of the Crusade, the royal troops destroyed the village and the castle in retaliation. The castles were then rebuilt on the crest of the hills. The castles then then became the administrative and military centre for six communities forming the Cabardes. The castle is composed of a tower surrounded by a curtian wall. The tower is comparable to the one at Quertineux.
