Pembroke House was established in 1885 as a centre for social action, by students from Pembroke College, Cambridge. It has remained as a community space since that time, running activities for people of all ages. It was registered as a charity in 1962. In 2009 a £1.6M building project was completed, funded by the Aylesbury New Deal for Communities (now Creation Trust) and the Big Lottery Fund, amongst others. The building is now a high quality multi-function space, housing numerous community organizations. Starting this year a group of volunteers have come together to transform the outside space from a neglected area to a thriving garden buzzing with life. So An enthusiastic and burgeoning bunch tend to the garden and learn about food growing.
