Former Manchester United player Wes Brown and former Liverpool player Phil Thompson attend a joint initiative against tragedy chanting in Huyton, Liverpool. Margaret Aspinall, former chair of the Hillsborough Families Support Group, was also in attendance. Sections from both sets of supporters have been condemned for chanting relating to the 1958 Munich air disaster and the Hillsborough disaster in 1989. The Foundations of Liverpool FC and Manchester United have come together to deliver an education programme on the impact of tragedy-related abuse and why it must stop. In the lead up to the Premier League fixture between the sides at Old Trafford on April 7, the two Foundations invited schoolchildren from Manchester and Liverpool to Lord Derby School in Huyton for an afternoon learning about the tragic histories of the two great football clubs.
